About the Analyst Group

The goal of the Analyst Group is to build our collective knowledge to benefit the progressive movement as a whole. By joining the Analyst Group, you'll have full access to Analyst Institute email digests, recommendations, trainings, and other resources!

Analyst Group eligibility

With few exceptions, we require members to be currently working full-time in the progressive, civic engagement and/or social justice community. We are unable to accept interns, volunteers, students, or members of the media.

A note on equity and inclusion

We welcome and actively encourage those from groups that have been historically underrepresented in spaces such as these—because of structural racism, gender discrimination, classism, and ableism—to apply. We aim to make the Analyst Group a place of belonging for all those interested in learning and innovating, and we are committed to fostering such an environment.

Analyst Group Agreements

Material presented at Analyst Group is private. No member is permitted to share material from the Analyst Group to people outside the group without permission from the presenter.
The goal of presentations at the Analyst Group is to share findings and educate members of the group, not to make a sales pitch.
Fostering open discussion about problems and methodological weaknesses in research is critical to the continued success of this group and the progressive data community. Members should feel comfortable doing so without fear of negative consequences.
Various members of our group may work, from time to time, on projects (often bi-partisan in nature) that also involve conservative or Republican consultants or clients. These members must be especially diligent to not inadvertently share know-how or materials. Members must be transparent and contact AI staff about situations that create either the appearance or actual conflicts with our overall effort.
All Analyst Group members are encouraged to actively participate in this community. For researchers, this could mean sharing research, projects, and methodological advancements. For practitioners and donors, it could mean asking questions and sharing your experiences in the field.
